Key Takeaways
- The BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Pad, a sleek and elegant 15W MagSafe charger, can wirelessly power both an iPhone and AirPods simultaneously.
- The compact size of the charger makes it convenient for use on a nightstand, kitchen counter, or entryway cabinet, and it comes with a 5-foot USB-C cable and power adapter.
- While the charger works effectively, the dual charging spots may be wasted as the AirPods charging area could have been replaced with an Apple Watch charger, which would have been more useful for some users.
First, there was the popular BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Stand, and now Belkin has introduced a follow-up, the BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Pad. There’s no gimmick here; it’s simply an elegant-looking 15W MagSafe charger that lays flat with room to power AirPods wirelessly at the same time as an iPhone. That’s it.

Design of the MagSafe-Compatible Charger
Technically, this product is called the BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe. It’s a long name, but in a world full of MagSafe-compatible devices pushing a 7.5W charging speed, it is worth noting that this is an official MagSafe product capable of the current 15W max speed.
The product is available in white or black and comes with a 5-foot USB-C cable and Power Delivery 3.0 power adapter. The left side features the MagSafe charger with a raised lip to accommodate nearly any case a phone might have on it. On the right is a more flush 5W charging area. The single USB-C cable plugs into the back.
The functionality of the two charging areas might dictate where you’ll want to use it, but in terms of space, its compact size worked great on my nightstand, on my kitchen counter, and on an entryway cabinet.
Belkin coated this 2-in-1 charger with its familiar soft-touch rubberized material. It felt great to the touch, but it did have a knack for collecting dust and fingerprints. Similar to the company’s other chargers, this one also has an orange LED indicator while charging. I did notice the pinhole light, but it didn’t bother me in the dark and at night.
Traveling With the BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1
This BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 charger is much smaller than Belkin’s similar 3-in-1 model, but I still wouldn’t recommend traveling with it. It can be moved around the house easily enough and might make sense to bring on an extended trip to a vacation home, but again, I wouldn’t sacrifice precious suitcase space to pack this charger along for a week-long trip.
There’s no real utility gained by bringing this charger rather than an Apple MagSafe charging puck.
The Problem With This Charger
As it stands, or lays, this charger was nearly perfect in my time with it. The black model showed dust and was a little annoying to wipe clean, but it worked like a charm. The problem with this charger is not how it worked but that its dual charging spots are probably wasted. Instead of a 5W AirPods charger, it should have been an Apple Watch charger in that space to complement the 15W MagSafe charger.
In case you didn’t know, AirPods with the wireless charging case can be charged on a MagSafe charger. They can be placed on the same area as the phone—an iPhone can also lay on the AirPods’ Qi wireless charging spot and be charged. So while the speeds are different, the two spots on the BoostCharger Pro 2-in-1 Pad duplicate each other. An Apple Watch, however, can’t be charged on either of the areas.
For my nightstand, I want a compact charger that can power my iPhone and Apple Watch. This was almost it. The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Pad does this, but most of the time, its AirPods spot remains empty. I don’t need to charge the Apple earbuds every night or even every other night.
If this BoostCharge 2-in-1 Pro did have an Apple Watch charger in addition to its 15W MagSafe spot, it might even change the thought on whether it should be traveled with and brought on more trips. Unfortunately, that scenario lives in an alternate universe.
The wireless charging spots can handle all kinds of wireless devices, including the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds.
Price and Availability
The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe is available now on the company’s website for $79.99. For comparison, the stand version costs $99.99, and the 3-in-1 model costs $149.99. If you like the overall appearance of the charger but do need an Apple Watch charger, I recommend checking out the Nomad Base One Max.
Should You Buy the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1?
After using the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad, I think it makes the most sense to use as a communal living room charger. The 15W speed is great for topping up an iPhone while you make dinner or watch TV. The AirPods spot is also more likely to be useful to a family with multiple AirPods owners.
I wouldn’t blame you for being attracted to this sleek, minimal dual charger. It looks great. However, the value might be a little off without an Apple Watch charger being one of the two charging areas.
